Vote Lib Dem for a change this February7.54.00pm GMT Mon 21st Jan 2008
Alison Steer is your LibDem candidate for the by-election in Harpenden South & West, to be held on 7th February. As the poll date approaches residents are asking : "Who will get the best deal for Harpenden at county hall?" For years the area has had Conservative councillors at Town, District and County level, but still there are problems with potholed roads, traffic, vandalism, and school places Many residents are saying that it's time for a fresh approach and are excited that ex-Mayor of St Albans, Alison Steer, has thrown her hat into the ring. Now it is time for a change. Vote for a change. Vote for Alison Steer! "I have been delighted by the warm reception I have received when I have called round asking residents' views on local issues and the positive response to our recent Residents' survey. Many of you have told me about problems and issues that have been neglected for years," says Alison. "I am passionate about education and youth services, as a sixth generation teacher. Both are issues where the conservative county council has let us down. If elected, I will do everything possible to improve these neglected services. I will also be pressing county to deliver better waste recycling - it is scandalous that their lack of action has resulted in Herts residents paying an extra £3.5 million this year in Landfill Tax."
